Conservation as a foundation

Campo Dumestre was born out of a conviction: there are places that do not need to be transformed to have value; it is the responsibility of their inhabitants to preserve and enhance their natural environment.

At Campo Dumestre, this commitment is safeguarded by a system of registered easements administered by Corporación Campo Dumestre, which guides the development and implementation of various programs aimed at restoring, regenerating, and protecting its natural ecosystem.

In the depth of the territory

Campo Dumestre is home to a wide variety of native and introduced flora and fauna, creating a sort of “natural classroom” that invites visitors to discover and learn, to explore and contemplate, to experience and share.

Native flora

More than 50 species of native flora adapted to the southern climate, including, among others, ñirre, calafate, zarzaparrilla and Magellanic fuchsia.

Orchids

The area is home to small, unassuming native orchid species that bloom seasonally and depend on the balance of the ecosystem.

Wild fauna

Mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects native to the area roam freely through the countryside, forming part of the natural wildlife corridors.

Findings in Campo Dumestre

These findings regarding flora and fauna are based on rigorous work by local experts who, using a network of camera traps set up throughout the Campo Dumestre area, capture real-time footage of the local wildlife, generating a valuable record of data that is then used to develop new restoration and regeneration programs.
