Vision
It is possible to live in rural areas in complete harmony and respect for the natural environment, fostering a culture of biodiversity conservation and promotion through community-based efforts.
Guiding principles
Conservation
Forests are restored, grasslands are regenerated, and ecosystems are protected through regulations, programs, and appropriate infrastructure.
Responsible Housing
Each lot has a specifically designated “building zone,” and the home is situated within that zone with minimal environmental and construction impact.
Community
Caring for and sharing our common space is possible through genuine community work, which is built on concrete actions and a systemic approach.
Conserve and develop
This project was conceived as a response to the challenge of developing the rural area of Campo Dumestre without destroying its natural value and richness—specifically, its ñirre and calafate forests and its grazing lands that slope down to the Última Esperanza Fjord in southern Chilean Patagonia.
The master plan for Campo Dumestre draws inspiration from “The Sea Ranch” project, located north of San Francisco, California, United States (www.tsra.org), which promotes the concept of conservation development, where homes are gently integrated into the landscape without fences, thereby ensuring that the original ecosystem retains its integrity and unity.
